At sunrise or sunset the sun gives off a red warm glow, this is a lower colour temperature or lower value Kelvin (2700 Kelvin or below is Warm White). At noon the sun gives off a brighter whiter light this is typically daylight and has a higher colour temperature or higher value Kelvin (5000 Kelvin or above is Daylight). Typically at home a Warmer light is desired to provide a comfort feel; visually daylight is a much Whiter Brighter light, used to work in the kitchen or in the office.
